ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions
ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions (ACEN RES), the retail electricity arm of ACEN and an Ayala company, has emerged as a renewable energy trailblazer in the Philippines. In 2023 and 2024, ACEN RES achieved remarkable growth by positioning clean energy as a catalyst for business success and sustainability. Moving away from fear-based messaging, they inspired action by championing purpose-driven values. Through a powerful mix of digital campaigns, personal engagement, and standout customer experience, ACEN RES more than tripled its customer base and doubled its energy volume—delivering cost savings for its customers and cutting carbon emissions. ACEN RES is a force for nature and provides solutions that allow Filipinos to thrive.
CLP Power Hong Kong Limited
CLP Power Hong Kong and SUNeVision Holdings Ltd made history in November 2024 by launching Hong Kong’s first site-specific Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) solution for a data centre. Under a six-year agreement, SUNeVision will source RECs from CLP’s solar farm at the South East New Territories Landfill, generating 1.2 million kWh annually and cutting 468 tonnes of carbon emissions—equal to the absorption of 20,000 trees. This groundbreaking initiative showcases innovative land use, supports Hong Kong’s carbon neutrality goals, and sets a powerful example for sustainable infrastructure. CLP continues to lead in driving renewable energy adoption across industries.
Equinix, Inc.
Equinix, Inc. demonstrated outstanding leadership in renewable energy and innovation across Asia in 2024. The company secured over 165 MW in renewable energy PPAs, including major deals in India and Singapore—markets known for their procurement challenges. Equinix, Inc. also began construction on SG6, a cutting-edge sustainable data center in Singapore, designed for AI workloads and featuring advanced green technologies. In partnership with the National University of Singapore, Equinix, Inc. invested US$4 million to launch a Co-Innovation Facility within SG6, aimed at accelerating research in low-carbon energy, efficient cooling, and circular design—driving the future of sustainable digital infrastructure in Asia and tropical regions.
Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC)
The Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) is a leading voice for the global wind industry, driving collaboration and policy support to unlock wind energy’s potential across the Asia-Pacific region. In 2024, GWEC hosted the APAC Wind Energy Summit, uniting officials from 12 countries and major renewable energy players to advance regional wind growth. GWEC also released key research, including its first APAC supply chain report and a detailed investor roadmap for Vietnam’s offshore wind sector. Through strategic outreach, knowledge-sharing, and actionable insights, GWEC continues to shape a net-zero future powered by a resilient, regionally grounded wind energy supply chain.
Gyeonggi Province
Gyeonggi Province, South Korea’s industrial powerhouse and home to giants like Samsung and Hyundai-Kia, is leading South Korea’s nation’s clean energy transition. Through its ambitious ‘Gyeonggi RE100 Vision,’ the province aims to expand renewable energy generation to 9 gigawatts by 2026. Gyeonggi is pioneering rooftop solar installations across government buildings and industrial complexes, and is the first local government to link solar projects with SME support. Its innovative "Industrial Complex RE100" and the development of the Gyeonggi Renewable Energy Certificate (G-REC) showcase its commitment to enabling RE100 goals and meeting industrial electricity demand through localized, scalable solar energy solutions.
National University of Singapore
The National University of Singapore (NUS) is showcasing how higher education can lead the energy transition. In 2024, NUS completed a major solar PV project, installing 20,425 panels across over 60 buildings with a 9.2 MWp capacity—generating nearly 10 GWh annually and cutting over 4,000 tons of CO₂ emissions. This milestone supports NUS’s goal to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 30% by 2030. Beyond campus, NUS drives regional impact through partnerships like its 2024 collaboration with The Rockefeller Foundation, launching a climate policy fellowship and regional dialogues to accelerate Southeast Asia’s energy connectivity and sustainable development.
